The Mulleavy sisters decided that for their fall collection they would look down under for some inspiration. Taking notes from Colonial Australia and the outback, the collection showcased pieces that encompassed the various elements that form the country that we know today. There was sheepskin inside aviator leather jackets and trimming on dresses, and aboriginal prints and patterns that were fused with a 50s silhouette that just made for a very chic but vibrant showcase. The colours too were very Aussie, from rich burnt siennas, deep earthy khakis and stark black and white, the tone was authentic but very modern. Not to mention, the clothes look wearable! Sure it may be a bit too much for a Sunday lunch, but the fact remains that the collection boasted some of the most sustainable and investable pieces from NYFW. George Lucas was in the front row too! Well, who would have thunk?! ^^
