NYFW: Proenza Schouler A/W12-13

For their Fall collection, the Proenza boys Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough decided to bring a taste of the Orient to their already über modern aesthetic. The pristine Shogunate element of the pieces are sharply tempered by asymmetrical lines and structural loucheness. The silhouette was also voluminous, playing with proportions from boxy, quilted Moto jackets to loose-fitting leather jumpsuits and stiff shift dresses. What made the pieces less severe however, was the vibrant colours that complemented the collection; from beautiful jewel tones, to shimmery metallics and bright ochres, the girls at Proenza Schouler looked like a reimagined crop of the famed Terracota soldiers.
