Trend Rant: Silk PJs As The New Jumpsuit?

There seems to be a new trend going around involving sleepwear, i.e. silk sets, couture onesies, etc....
...am I the only one who finds this utterly ridiculous?

Firstly, I think this should be addressed as one of those silly runway 'fads' that 'fashionistas' tend to favour because it's niche and unexpected. I've already seen one too many bloggers 'rocking' this look on LOOKBOOK and etc. To that I just think, NO. Remember when the silk nightie slip suddenly became the LBD du jour? Thanks Dolce and Gabbana. It's just stupid. Never mind that it's unflattering in all aspects. Even if you do a onesie in duchess silk or flannel or what have you, it is still sleepwear. For a toddler too! It is a not a jumpsuit. Sure, you can 'couture' it up your Louboutin Daffodiles and that Lanvin multi-chain neck-brace, but even so, I'm sorry but I don't think it will work. Rest assured, this all comes down to personal preference and you may have a differing opinion, but surely you can see where I'm coming from? THEY ARE PYJAMAS!!!! We are not on the set of some Parisian remake of Lawrence of Arabia, and the ones out there are certainly not 'harem' enough to make it an avant garde look. Do yourselves a favour and stick to actual clothes made for wearing outside the bedroom during the daylight hours. It's bad enough that I have to suffer looking at people who shop wearing their flannel mix PJs, complete with Uggs and beanies, that now I have to watch out for muttons wearing a silky polkadot twin-sets on a night out, in an attempt at looking boudoir fierce too? Non. Jamais.

Thoughts?
xoxo
